Peace Remains Near

Peace is often imagined as a destination.

A place we finally arrive after everything has been resolved.

Yet the peace Scripture speaks of is often much closer than that.

It accompanies.

It steadies.

It remains available in the midst of ordinary days.

Perhaps peace is less about perfect circumstances and more about recognizing God's presence within them.

Like fruit slowly ripening on the branch, peace grows quietly.

Patiently.

One day at a time.

We may not always notice the growth while it is happening.

Yet grace continues its work.

"Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way." 2 Thessalonians 3:16
