Welcome. I'm so glad you're here.
Whether you've arrived here in a season of joy, uncertainty, waiting, or renewal, I'm grateful we can spend a few moments together.
For many years, I’ve been a student of the Bible and an active participant in a Bible study group. My curiosity deepened when I began to wonder what the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23) really means—not just in theory, but in everyday life and in all circumstances.
So I studied. I journaled and travelled to Greece. And over time, my understanding of these spiritual qualities began to expand. I noticed that by choosing kindness in daily actions, my relationships softened and grew stronger. Even in moments of stress or uncertainty, a sense of calm began to take root. Working through loss of my husband two decades ago and several pets over the years became eased with this study. A peace of mind became more familiar.
This journey continues to transform and refresh me in ways I never expected. In the early morning quiet — Bible open, coffee beside me — I’ve discovered that God’s Spirit doesn’t work through pressure, but through presence. Not by demanding perfection, but by offering peace.
If you're anything like me, you may carry a quiet longing to feel more grounded, more centered in your faith, and more connected to God’s love. You may also have questions, heartaches, or the simple exhaustion of a full life. I hope this devotional meets you gently in that space.
I don’t write as a teacher, but as a fellow traveler — still learning to pause, to listen, and to walk by the Spirit’s gentle guidance.
Thank you for allowing me to share what I’ve learned along the way. May this growing family of devotionals be gentle companions as you grow in grace, walk in love, and bear the beautiful fruit of God within you.
Go gently,
Anne Cartmell
